MGS3 Boss Pictures Leaked
Posted by finalfantasy7 on 22 Sep 2004, 16:14 AM

[Spoilers] Early today 5 digital camera images of the Cobra unit made there way onto the web though http://ranobe.com/. But in less down 3 hrs later they were taken down, only to be uploaded at http://www.gamefront.de/. These images seem to be shots of a Japanese Game Magazine who got an exclusive preview of info that will be unveiled at TGS in 2 days.

This possibly might also be the press handouts that will be given at TGS. Needless to say, this is solid proof for the leaked document’s credibility.

Also check out the character info section. Beware for spoilers too.

IGN reports on MGA
Posted by finalfantasy7 on 22 Sep 2004, 01:27 AM

A new preview article posted on Ign.com explains the gamplay details and there opinion about Metal Gear Acid. The writer at IGN who got a chance to play MGA today explains that the game looks promising. This is good news for many fans that were skeptical about the whole idea of a strategy MG game.

As many people expected and as announced before, the player have to use cards to do every thing in the game. Even moving around the field and shooting a gun requires the use of cards.

Only time will tell if MGA will be as good as promised or if it will be an another mistake like TTS.

MGS3 Demo to be out soon
Posted by finalfantasy7 on 22 Sep 2004, 01:00 AM

As most of you already know the November issue of Official Playstation Magazine (US) will be including a huge preview of MGS3 along with a playable demo that was unveiled at 2004 E3. It has been rumored for days that this issue will be in select stores on September 20.

Today I have received some information, saying that some Gamestop stores have already got this issue mailed to them, but not yet put it up on the shelves. I called 3 Gamestop stores in the city I live in and all 3 of them say they don’t have the issue yet, but expect them to come in mail anytime soon.

I suggest you use this store locater and call the Gamstop stores near your house. You might be luck enough the get the demo today if you peruse the employee to sell you the November issue early.

Rumour : The brand new MGS3 trailer to be shown at the upcoming TGS (Tokyo Game Show) will show some of the boss battles with the Cobra members.

Those rumor has been floating for some hours on the net. If you remember, in one of the last MGS2 trailers, Kojima showed us the battle with Fortune, so will he do the same thing with the new trailer? Will we see how The Pain or The Sorrow look? Only time will tell, but don't forget to check MetalGearSolid.org for more details as soon as they become available.

Videos of GC Press Conference
Posted by finalfantasy7 on 14 Sep 2004, 02:20 PM

New videos of the Metal Gear Solid 3 press conference at the German Game Convention have surfaced on the web. In these videos Hideo Kojima explained the Game mechanics in detail via the help of a Power point presentation. While the information is not exactly new, it does confirm some of the game play aspects that were in doubt prier to this press Conference. We now know that snake has the ability to sleep to regain some of his stamina. Not only that snake can get burned, break bones and get severally sick. He also has the ability to take out bullets that are lodged into his body. But it is a choice a player has, you can either treat your wounds or let it just heal, which will leave a scar on snake’s body. Kojima-san said if you don't treat yourself from start to end of them game, snake’s body will be deformed with many scars.
He also confirmed that MGS3 will tie in the trilogy with the three themes, Genes x Memes x Scene:

“..And now that we have all three games, the grand theme comes together and becomes final. And when you pass on to your future generations through your genes and when you pass on your memes, all this, and whether it is a good thing or a bad thing, the standard has changed upon time. Something that was supposed to be great 100 years ago might be something very evil in 100 years and that’s why we're basically taking a slice of history which is scene.”

UK gets the demo too!
Posted by finalfantasy7 on 13 Sep 2004, 02:10 PM

As many of the UK fans have been wondering, will they even get the MGS3 demo that US OPM buyers will get? It turns out that UK Official Playstation Magazine will also be having the same demo US OPM has promised. But it is yet to be known which issue of the magazine will contain the demo. We will let you know once we get more information about this.

“When will a MGS3: Snake Eater demo get on the disc?

The plan with any demo is to get the game on the disc the issue before the review. MGS3 will, of course, definitely get on the disc, but right now we can't tell you which issue - it will depend on when Konami decide to release the game in the UK. But be sure that when we do find out, we'll be singing it from the paper rooftops of OPS2.”

English version might contain an option for Japanese voices
Posted by finalfantasy7 on 11 Sep 2004, 08:13 AM

It seems that Kojima-san is considering to include an option to be able to hear Japanese Voice acting in the English version of MGS3. This is good news for numerous fans that were less than satisfied with some of the English voice actors mediocre performances presented in the GC trailer.

“During a brief Q&A session at E3, Kojima said he hoped the option for Japanese language support would be in the US version, but there's no telling if it'll happen until the final comes around.”
