Kojima & Shinkawa in LA!

Los Angeles fans of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and its predecessors will be able to meet two of the men behind the game: Hideo Kojima and Yoji Shinkawa. Kojima is the creator of the series and Shinkawa is the character designer and both will be available at two different signings on November 30. Metal Gear Solid games and paraphernalia will be signed and limited edition posters will be given away at the events as well.

These events will happen at a GameStop from 11AM to noon and at an EB Games from 6:30PM to 8PM.

The Japanese version of MGS3 Official Website has recently updated there trailer section to add a gameplay trailer of the mini game in MGS3 called Snake vs. Monkey.

Also the cover and release date for the first Japanese MGS3 guide (Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater Official Guide: The Basic) has been updated on the official site. This 256 page guide will go on sale on December 16th in Japan for 1350 yen ($13).

New Official Updates and Reviews

Official Metal Gear Solid 3 site has been recently updated to include mini character dossiers, back story of MGS3 and a total new site design.

Also with MGS3 releasing today numerous game sites have released there reviews on the game:

[GameSpy] Score: 4.5/5
[Gamespot] Score: 8.7/10
[IGN] 9.6/10
[1-UP] 9.5/10

Needless to say these reviews contain many new screenshots and gameplay videos. Be sure to check them out.

MGS:TUS is now part of the GameSpy Network

Track-list of MGS3 Official Soundtrack

Konami recently released the official listing of the music contained in the 2 CD official Metal Gear Solid 3 soundtracks. Needless to say the names of the each music are spoilers that suggest many events in the game, so read it at your own risk.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is on the way

The highly respected video games website, gamesindustry.biz has posted some information concerning Konami’s intentions to create Metal Gear Solid 4. The news article also confirms that initial work is already underway on the title. No information was given however on what system the game would be appearing on – though it is widely believed to be for PlayStation 3 – or what part (if any) Kojima will play in its creation.

As ever we will let you know when we get any more titbits on the Snake Eater sequel.

UPDATE: Yet another site – eurogamer.net – has divulged more information on Metal Gear Solid 4, with the boss of Konami Japan expressing their intention to create more instalments to the series and mentioning that they have some ideas for future Metal Gear titles.

Kojima-san wins Game Award Future

On October 27th at All Nippon Airways hotel in Tokyo, Hideo Kojima was presented with Game Award Future at 8th CESA Game Award show. MGS3 was chosen over 500 other yet to be released games contending for this award. This award was determined by general polls and opinions of people who visited the 2004 Tokyo Game Show on September 24th - 26th. This is the second consecutive year that MGS3 has won this award for showing great promise in terms of story and gameplay.

First MGS3 review scores

An EGM editor has finally confirmed the rumored Electronic Gaming Magazine (EGM) MGS3 review scores that have been floating around the web are true. MGS3 received a 9.0, 9.5,10 from them. For people who are not familiar with EGM review format, there reviews consist of mini reviews of each game from 3 different reviewers who each express there opinions on the game, which gives the readers broad perspective on the game without just one person’s opinion.

The official Soundtrack cover revealed!

Konami revealed the official cover of the MGS3: Snake Eater soundtrack, which feature life-like Eva model and styled grey-black color scheme.
This official soundtrack is compiled with the music from polygon demos, ingame gameplay music, and the MGS3 ending. A total of 43 tunes are included in this 2 CD set. The first disc can be used to unlock a unique camouflage in the final game. The first 1000 copies come with a special sleeve case that is highly collectable. This OST is scheduled to be release on December 15th in Japan for 3,150 yen ($31)
